Forest Guider

2009

Forest Guider is an accomplished writer and director with a BA in Theater, a graduate of the Groundlings Writing lab, and The Second City Training program.

After spending many years writing and directing for the stage, Mr. Guider has turned his attention to the film industry. In the fall of 2008 he was admitted to the UCLA Professional Screen Writing Program where he has just finished a dark comedy called, “Mary of Porn”.

Mr. Guider has been honored with placing in the quarterfinals of the prestigious Nicholl fellowships with the off-kilter, romantic comedy “The Closer”. The Arizona Screenwriting Festival also awarded Mr. Guider with a semi-final placement for their super-natural thriller, “Enemy Way”.

After years of directing theater, sketch, and short films, Mr. Guider has just finished directing one of four parts of a feature, “Absurbia”. “Absurbia” touches on the absurdities in life from four very different viewpoints. Currently, “Absurbia” is in the festival circuit and is slated to be featured on a new content website later this year.

UPDATE: The BIAFF Film festival gave “Absurbia” four out of five stars and called it “A tremendous achievement… beautifully acted and filmed.”

Mr. Guider’s most recent screenplay, “Kept”, has just been released from option and he is currently looking to direct the film in summer, 2009.
